<p>I saw the following on a placemat at Dairy Queen over the weekend. It&#8217;s worth sharing. This promotion for the launch of DQ&#8217;s Moolatte&reg; frozen beverage is a great example of working the fundamentals. It&#8217;s fun, it&#8217;s creative, it encourages customer interaction, and maybe most importantly, it subtly pays homage to (a subset of) DQ&#8217;s audience. On top of that it&#8217;s bold and a bit daring &#8211; and seemed to generate a lot of buzz. I can hear the feedback around the table from that marketing meeting, &#8220;What? We&#8217;re going to ask people to bring their cows to DQ? That&#8217;s crazy.&#8221;. I don&#8217;t know if this 2004 promo was a hit or a flop &#8230; either way, it inspired me.</p>
